The best things in life are free. Of course, that is not to say that any of these images are worth a damn. But someone may find a use for them.

Rules for modifying images here? You know, the whole idea of this site is to simply provide a sampling of pictures. If you want to modify any of them through cropping or other ways, feel free to do that too. I am not a professional photographer, and the point of this site is not to make money from any photos, but simply to snap shots of what I find interesting and share them with you either for the enjoyment of looking at them, or the enjoyment of using them without having to worry about copyrighted content and getting flagged for using something you find on the Internet.

Patriot

This is a picture I took of the front of my house which was edited to black and white, skewed, and then only the flag was colorized. It could be used for any patriotic blog theme or article. I used it in one of my editorials I wrote on Hub Pages. You can find that editorial entitled, "Profile of a Patriot," by clicking here if you would like to read it.

I also used it in posing a question on WebAnswers where I asked, "How does this photo represent American pride?" There were actually some interesting answers to that question which could give you some ideas for uses. The answer can be found here.

Wisconsin On the Lake (modified)

Sometimes it's fun to just play around with various picture editing web sites, especially the ones that are primarily free. This picture was edited at Pic Monkey using just one of their picture overlays. I thought it gave the picture a really cool look, and so I decided to keep it and post it here.

I took the original photo in 2008 in Northern Wisconsin. You can find the original photo here.
